Darcy's disappearing act

I love it when Winter comes around and the cats start growing their winter manes... they turn into such beautiful little fluff balls! However whilst Sookie's fur is very smooth and silky and hardly needs any grooming, Mr Darcy's is more like fluffy candy floss and gets very matted, very quickly. (Note that for some reason although I'm a grown woman I refer to these as 'matty boos'... I have no logical explanation why!!) Add to that the fact that Darcy *hates* being groomed and it's not so fun!

I bought a grooming tool last year which is like the Furminator... but not the Furminator and was a lot cheaper as a result! It's actually done okay and Darcy would tolerate it for short spells but the other week I cut my finger on it... a small shard of metal had splintered on one of the teeth. I'm only glad that it got me and not Mr D.

So after all this I decided to bite the bullett and buy a proper Furminator, complete with a little button that ejects the fluff - how fancy! As it turns out I found it online and it was half the price that it's sold for in our local pet store.

The battle between Darcy and the Furminator is due to commence sometime this week... wish us all luck!!!

p.s. I'm sorry if I'm a bit slow or don't manage to leave a comment as I normally would this week, however I'm currently due to work in London 3 days this week which means most of my time will be spent on the train and I can't get comments to work on my mobile- boo!! I'll still be reading all your posts though :)

You are not going to regret purchasing the Furminator. I have one that I use on all the cats AND the rabbits. Remember to take pictures of Mr D before and after AND all the floof that came off! :)

Mr. Darcy, the FURminator is awesome! I don't know why you have issues with grooming. I think it rules!

I've always wanted to use a furminator! Unfortunately neither of my dogs need it. Good luck, Darcy! I'm sure you'll feel a whole lot better after :]

Mr. Darcy, somebody STOLE your neck and replaced it with FLOOF! Holy cats.
The Furminator will take care of that, if you let it--heh heh.

I LOVE you floof! When I was a lot younger my winter furs were like that. I could hardly wash my chest or anything else I had so much fur sticking up. Let us know how you do sweetheart, and keep those claws of doom ready.

Darcy
You are simply majestic with your winter coat! But we wouldn't like matty-boos either.
Thank you for your sweet purrs while Momma has been recuperating from my bitey...

Oh my goodness, Mr Darcy! Your face is disappearing!! But how gorgeous you are! I want to bury my face in your fur, too, if it's allowed :-)
I love your face expression in the last photo. You are such a brave fighter..hehe. I am looking forward to the report of the battle!

Ha ha ha! The Humans spend all kinds of money to get scarves and muffs like that, Mr. D, and your Human wants to get RID of yours?

Sigh, Humans.

My Human looked at one a them Furminators but she was too cheap to buy it. Maybe now she will since efurryone says they is wonderful!

Mr. Darcy
My, what incredible floof you have! We've heard good things about the Furminator - our mom wanted to buy one, but for now Skootch lets her comb him [very gently!].
