We are not amused

Oh hai, Darcy and Sookie here. We're not impressed at mummy. These are our unimpressed faces:

  1. She has been A.W.O.L. all week and left us with our daddy - something about her sister being pregnant and them having one last girly week together before the baby comes blah blah blah. We don't like to wake up daddy, we save it for mummy only. Plus daddy never wakes up when we bug him at 4am so we don't get our tap water. We've been soooo dehydrated. (okay so we have a water fountain downstairs and a water bowl upstairs too, but that's not the point!)
  2. She didn't do her usual blog visits and comments. Again something about not having internet access apart from her phone and the battery running out blah blah blah.
When she walked in we were tempted to roll on our backs and ask for belly rubs but punishment was required, so we had to look away.

Talk to the tail, cos the face ain't listening!
Well... we managed this for about 30 seconds, then we couldn't hold it in any longer and had to run up to her and purr and meow and request a weeks worth of cuddles. She's still trying to catch up... we're very demanding!

Oh and we woke her up at 4am this morning bang on time - normal service has resumed!

Meet Some Friends Monday

Firstly an update on the dreaded Furminator! I really wish I could show you 'before and after' photos of Mr Darcy, but the truth is that he still hates being groomed and does his very best to avoid it... even with the new Furminator. I am perservering and getting about 4 handfuls of fluff out everyday but I think it will be a slow and constant process over winter to keep his coat matt free. On the other hand Sookie loves it, which is ironic because her coat really doesn't need so much upkeep!

And so on to today's post. I was delighted to be contacted by Gayle, who lives with her mum in a small village called Kenmay in Aberdeenshire in Scotland and owns two gorgeous Ragdolls. Better yet, she sent me some photos to share with you all!

So without further ado I introduce to you:

Rosie and Charlie
"Rosie is our little lady..."
"...Charlie thinks he's a big man but he loves his scarf in the winter!"

When Gayle sent me these photos I noticed that Rosie was wearing a leash. I may have mentioned previously that I have tried to train Sookie so that I can take her and Darcy for walks but that she gets very upset every time I put the harness on her, so I asked Gayle if she could share her experience:

Gayle:
"We live on a busy street and unfortunately have lost two cats in the past to the busy road so we decided to buy each of them a leash. It was very entertaining the first time they got their leash on as they collapsed on the ground like a ragdoll does, however, by the third attempt they were sitting by the doorway waiting!

They both walk around the garden quite the thing now and have gotten into a little routine. They go out for a walk in the morning, afternoon and after tea."

...so maybe there is hope for Sookie yet??!!

Rosie observing the birds from a mini wheel barrow...
...and enjoying a stroll
Charlie finds a quiet spot on the cabinet, tired after one of his walks outdoors...

Thanks to Gayle for introducing me to her lovely raggies, I hope you all enjoyed meeting them too!

Inspector Darcy at your service!

Oops... I only went out for a library book and came back with two new pairs of shoes. In my defence they are for work, my other pair are looking rather shoddy... and they were beeeauuuutiful!

Thanks for backing me up Mr D :)

Sookie the bed bug

*waiting*
Duvet monster attack!
Om nom nom nom
Ha - Got it!!
C'mon mummy, time for round 2!

Sookie loves to play the game 'duvet monster'. It's very simple: I wiggle my toes under the covers and she pounces and lunges and swats and bites.

But ha Sookie! My toes are faster than you!

...well most of the time...

New toy vs Old toy

Note to self:  It doesn't matter the cost or quality of any new toy bought - no enthusiasm will be shown for new toys... in fact the mere introduction of this will result in cat deciding that an old toy he never liked before is his new favourite.
Recipe for success: Put said new toy in cupboard or leave lying on the floor for a couple of weeks. One day you'll find cat playing with it... on his terms!

Hi everyone, we're back!!! Thanks to all for the good wishes... I dearly wish I had been on holiday, but I've been on a mammoth study cram session over the weekend which I'm happy to say is over now! It's nice to be back in the blogosphere again and I'm looking forward to catching up on all the goings on tomorrow.

For now though, it's been another long day at work and the kitties want cuddles, so I suppose I'd better get onto that...

Wordless Wednesday (well... Thursday to Sunday if we're being specific)

For the first time since I started blogging (some 70 posts ago now!) I need to take a short break away from the blogosphere. I should be back on Tuesday if all goes to plan - I shall miss you all and look forward to catching up on all the goings on next week!

Wishing you all a fabulous rest of the week and weekend!!!

...and in honour of Wordless Wednesday, here's a little photo I snapped of Mr Darcy, pre-Furminator with some crazy fluff going on!
