5am Wakey Wakey!!

Thanks for sharing all of your stories about the bathroom - they did make us giggle....especially when ManxNews let us know that Abby sits on their lap during 'loo time'... I don't think I'd know what to do if 6.5kg Mr Darcy did that!!!

And here is the link to Alfie who asked the question about baths!! =^..^=

Pawtraits

In our household there really is no such thing as privacy anymore. Sookie and Mr Darcy love company and follow hubby and I from room to room. They are most perturbed if any door is closed and will scratch and paw to get it open... this includes visits to the bathroom!

As a result the door is now always left ajar unless we have visitors, but even they tend to get escorted to the bathroom by Mr Darcy who then waits patiently outside until they make their exit again!

Mr Darcy enjoys a good roll around in the shower cubicle, I think it's the cool surface that he likes. Sookie prefers the bath so that she can drink from the tap, but where Darcy goes she is sure to follow... especially if the camera is out.

Here are a few photos they posed for this weekend! The toys are actually supposed to float in a little paddling pool that we got them (see an old post on this here). These days I run the toys under the tap and leave them in the shower - they love to paw them around and then pick them up and run off leaving little puddles down the hallway!!

Awards, sunshine, news, links and WINNING!!

Well this is definitely not a wordless wednesday, I have so much to tell you all!! Here goes....

First of all a belated thanks to Brian who recently gave me the Inspiration Award - I was so pleased to receive it but as usual time got the better of me and I'm late in acknowledging it - oops! And thank you again from us all :)
Today lovely Tooki gave me the Stylish Blogger Award....if you haven't paid her a visit before do go and say hello!
... PLUS the Sunshine Award!! This one has come just in the nick of time as the weathermen have told us that summer is now officially over and we can look forward to wind, rain and snow for the next 5 or so months - hmmff!!

I think there are rules attached to these awards but I've lost track of exactly what they all are... however I think Mr Darcy and Sookie deserve them so I hope you won't mind if I proudly display them anyway!!

I understand I have to answer some questions for the Sunshine Award:
Fav color  --  black - it really does hide a multitude of sins!
Fav animal -- other than cats and dogs, it has to be the Panda!
Fav number -- 22

Fav drink -- Lucozade. I'm surprised I haven't turned orange I drink so much of it
FB or Twitter -- Twitter - by a whisker!
Getting or giving presents -- Giving - even if my cats do tend to turn their noses up at whatever I've bought them!
Fav pattern --  Um... cat silhouettes??
Fav day -- Sunday
Fav flower -- the classic rose

I could list blogs that I love for days, you are all so entertaining! Instead here are just a few that I haven't mentioned before that immediately spring to mind when I read the award names, and a couple of new discoveries too!

Mr Puddy - if you haven't received these awards before, I'll eat my hat! (Well, I'll pretend to anyway!!) You are one funny mancat and I love your style!
Katnip Lounge - your catio is an inspiration - I'm in awe whenever I see it! And your cats and their antics, they do make me laugh - every single time!
Eric and Flynn - some fellow brit aristocats! I love dropping in on blogs across the world, but it's also nice to see Eric and Flynn enjoying the fields and countryside that is so familiar to me! :)
TheIslandCats - A recent discovery - but I do now love visiting your blog and seeing the latest goings on
Theittybittykittycommittee - I just love looking at the photos on this blog. Warning - you will not be able to contain yourself from squeeing!

Now for a news round up:

I was sad to hear that Missy (the mother of my beautiful Sookie) had complications during her latest pregnancy and as such this litter of one will be her last. More on this here. The last update I have is that Little Tiny is hanging on in there, so I am sending my best wishes and keeping my fingers crossed that the little one pulls through.
You can see where Sookie gets her looks from here. And if you can't guess from the pictures, Tyler is her handsome dad.

In better news, one of Tanya's other queens KT has just had a litter. She was a little bit naughty and snuck out to find her own 'stud' rather than the one Tanya had carefully selected! You can see the full story here: http://tkatzragdollcatsandkittens.blogspot.com/2011/09/naughty-kt.html and if that isn't enough for you, there are some gorgeous pictures of the kittens here! http://tkatzragdollcatsandkittens.blogspot.com/2011/10/kt-kitten-update.html

And in fantastic news, as of 3rd Octobr Feline Care in Norfolk have now raised £59,395!! The authorities are suitably impressed with their progress and so are happy for them to keep fundraising - there will be no closure of the centre at this time - hooray!!!

In non-pet news I won a competition at work! I'm therefore leaving the kitties at home with my husband tonight whilst I swan off to Leicester Square, London to see Lady Antebellum perform a live acoustic set.
I have a small confession though... I haven't really heard of them but read that they've won a Grammy so I figure they are a bit bigger in the States - anyone know if they're any good??

And finally, if you have reached the bottom of this post - here is one of my all time favourite shots of Mr Darcy to reward you!! =^..^=

Monday Munchies

It's a British stereotype that we love to talk about the weather, so not wanting to disappoint:

We've just had a record breaking weekend of weather here in England and Wales with the hottest start to an October on record. It has been around 28 degrees C here... some of you may consider that Winter I'm sure, but to us it's practically tropical!

Usually at this time of year the cats are no longer allowed in the garden as it's too cold for us to sit out with them, but we've all made the most of the sunshine this weekend - after all it could be the last of the year!

Here's a little of what Mr Darcy and Sookie got up to:
