Sookie has been in a particularly mischievous mood this week. My hubby is a bit of a film and tv geek and has a collection of figures from Star Wars and Transformers. Sookie is obsessed with them and keeps climbing onto our shelving unit to play with them. It's quite funny to see my 30 something hubby shout to a cat to "get off Optimus Prime, he's not a toy!!!"
Sookie also had her yearly check up and booster jabs this week. All went well and she's a healthy weight. She gets quite upset at car journeys though and meows constantly. This time though I decided to try putting on a cd and would you know it, she settled down in her carrier and took a nap - I've never really thought about animals and music before but I think she might have found it soothing... do your cats show any interest in music??
You might also have noticed from the photos that Sookie is following in Darcy's footsteps and floofing out for winter - her mane seems to have sprouted from nowhere!

Sookie, we sing our warrior songs in the PTU (prisoner transport unit) on the way to the v-e-t too!
The mom doesn't notice any impact from music on us, but many four-legged animals *are* influenced by music. In fairness, the mom usually leaves CBC Radio 1 (talk) on for us all day when she's at work, so she's not really sure what impact music would have on us, and what genre.

What a yummy sun puddle. So glad Sookie's vet visit was good. We're waiting on test results from Merlin's vet visit yesterday. Music soothes the savage beast as they say. We like the sound of TV like Nat Geo Wild.

Wow. All that floof in that first picture did make me think it was Mr Darcy. We're glad the music helped you feel better during the car ride. Mummy has tried to get the CD for us but it's just not available here. :(

I have music that I love too. Mom calls it my CD.
We keep our cats food on a table too, actually our dining room table which we never eat off of, we need to keep it there or else the dogs eat it.
I feel for your husband. I had x files figurines, which where actually also toppers for my wedding cake, and Norbert chewed them too bits when he was a puppy. Luckily I was able to buy new ones on ebay. (I can also frequently be heard telling my cats not to climb around by my Harry Potter snowglobes and I am in my thirties as well)
LOL!! Of course, Optimus Prime is not a toy :-) I watched all there of the movie. I liked the 1st one very much.
My kids don't like the car ride either. I usually play music but really in small volume. I'll turn up the volume next time and hopefully it will work!!

Yes, some (but not all) of our cats have liked music, and there are some at the shelter who seem to enjoy it.

Soo...THATS why cats like to eat their food in high places! Cats do have the best food though, so unfair! hehe
and i had no idea that cats like music. my cat sister runs away whenever there is music playing, but then again, your cats are more fun than she is ;)
